I have started reading "How I killed Pluto and Why It had It Coming" and so far, I like it. I am only a chapter and a half in.  After Professor Hansen gave a brief summary of this book in class, I knew I would want to read it at some point so what better time than now. I live less than a mile from the California Institute of Technology. This is where professor Mike Brown, the writer of this memoir, worked. My sister is also in the astronomy world and I live with her. She works at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (NASA) In Pasadena. NASA is associated with Cal-Tech in many of their projects, so I often hear about new or old space activities from my sister. I liked the tone of this book. English being my second language, I am not a fan of reading but this book has me captured so far.It is not too intense for me to understand. I am sure I will be talking about this book with my sister and get her feed back. 

 It was intersting to learn that the seven days of the week were named after the seven original planets. I am eager to read the rest of this book to learn how Professor Brown killed Pluto ! I hope to keep connecting with this book so that it becomes an easy read for me.I think I will read Growing a farmer next since I have been arounds farms most of my life.

In this random blog post I will talk about my recent medical condition I had that made me end up in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). About a week before spring break, I started coughing. I thought it was just a regular cough that would go away. But It was not. It was a very bad dry cough with zero mucus coming out. Gradually I started feeling shortness of breath and could not sleep at night. On March 16 I went to the student health center to see what is going on. Upon arrival at the health center, they took my vitals and my Oxygen saturation value was at 88%. Healthy individuals exhibit oxygen saturation values between 96% and 99%. They did a chest x-ray and gave me a Nebulizer breathing treatment which brought my oxygen saturation level up to 94%. I was sent me home with an antibiotic z-pack, steroids to open up my lungs and an inhaler. My physician at the health center asked me to go back for a follow up appointment on Monday March 18. I enjoyed reading Mike Brown's "How I killed Pluto and why it had it coming". I found it interesting how Mike Brown, who is an astronomer at Caltech, always wanted to discover planets and he ended up killing Pluto! This was an easy-to-read book for me, considering English is my second language and that I am not a big fan of reading over all, let alone not a book in my native language. By reading this book I learned how Brown always wanted to discover planets, the long sleepless nights that he had looking through telescopes and going through data, writing up computer programs for his found data and... . He basically loved astronomy and the solar system. I think Brown gave a human dimension to his book by telling us about how he met his wife, Diane, and also the birth of his daughter, Lilah. He talked about his first sleepless nights with Lilah and how he made an actual website for her where he was tracking Lilah's feedings and sleeping schedule. He made graphs of the...
